EUBRANEX II
EUBRANEX II is the continuation of the actions undertaken so far within EUBRANEX, with the same contact persons, but now funded by proper ressources of the partner institutions of the EUBRANEX consortium.
The general rules of the new call are similar to the former ones. Nevertheless some modifcations have been introduced, according to the EUBRANEX experiences. In order to benefit the maximum number of individuals within the possible resources, in the new call the duration of the scholarship for undergraduate mobility is 5 months, corresponding to the lecture period of one semester at the European and Brazilian Partner universites; and the duration of the doctorate scholarship is 4 months, corresponding to a short research stay at a host institution.
The start of the study or research period abroad will be from February to March 2010, according to the Academic Calender of the Brazilian host universities. The monthly allowances continue to be equal (1000 Euro for undergraduate mobility, 1500 Euro for doctorate mobility), while the sum foreseen for travel expenses is 1500 Euro (return ticket), and the lumpsum paid for health insurance 60 Euro per month.
In the new call only 5 months (undergraduate) and 4 months (doctorate) scholarships will be available. All interested candidates (who have to be students of the member institutions of EUBRANEX) in the call of EUBRANEX II should start to prepare their application documents by now, considering the application requisites and rules of the former calls. The application period, in which the online application tool will be accessible and the needed documents have to be uploaded, will be opened for European candidates from November 18 to December 3, 2009, 12 A.M. (European Central Time).
After closure of the application period, the applications will be evaluated immediately by the coordinators of the future host universities. The final selection will happen as soon as possible, followed by the notification (by email) to the selected applicants by December 15th, 2009. The future grant holders will have to start the visa process imediately, in order to be able to be at their future host university when lectures and orientiation activities start, around February/March 2010, acccording to the respective host university in Brazil. The flight tickets EU x BR (return tickets) will be provided by the coordinating office at TU Munich, according to the individual and institutional requests.
The final selection will try to equilibrate the mobility flow as good as possible among Europe and Brazil, and among the participating universities, considering at the same time both the academic and intercultural qaulification of the applicants, as the number of applicants and the respective financial contribution of the partners.
The selection committee met on December 8, 2009, at TUM and decided to award the following applicants with a EUBRANEX II scholarship. Felicitations to the future grantholders, who have been selected out of 495 candidates, and thanks to all applicants for their participation.
